Four intruders rob Streamwood man
Streamwood police are investigating a reported armed home invasion that occurred Tuesday afternoon.
About 2:10 p.m. Tuesday three men and a woman entered an apartment on the 0-99 block of North Victoria Lane in Streamwood armed with an AK-47 rifle, according to a police report.
The victim, who was home alone at the time, told police the armed man pointed the gun at the victim's head while $900 was taken from a dresser drawer.
The victim told police he was watching television when the buzzer for the front door sounded. He said he thought it was his son coming home from school and pressed the button to unlock the front door without asking who it was. He then unlocked the apartment door and sat back down to watch TV, according to the report.
Three men and one woman then ran into the apartment wielding the gun. The victim immediately threw himself on the floor.
The victim told police that he had seen the men "around Chicago" but did not know them. He said he knew the woman by her first name but did not know her last name or any further information, according to the report.
The man told police he had the woman's cell phone number saved in his phone, but the thieves took his phone as they were leaving, according to the report.
The victim described the men as Arab and about 30 years old. One of the intruders was about 6 feet tall with a beard, according to the report.
The man was not injured, and no arrests have been made.
