Whom do GOP tax cuts really benefit?

Every time I read a letter in the Fence Post from a Republican stalwart bemoaning Obama's policies and extolling the Republican agenda of lowering taxes to enhance job creation, I have to ask myself, what do they base this on?

Bush lowered the taxes as soon as he and Republican took control of Congress, and what was the result of these glorious efforts? We were driven to the edge of another great depression, and because taxes were already lowered to accommodate their rich friends, during a time of plenty, there is no remedy now to correct the resulting massive debt they created. And as much as the Republicans like to lay blame elsewhere, they are the ones who were in charge when the debt was being driven through the roof.

And now that the Republican fat cats have sent all our jobs overseas, what do taxes matter when anybody without a job can't pay them anyway? And then these same corporations are completely free of taxes because they have a store front office in the Bahamas, so who is going to pay for the next super jet the military wants if there is no money in the treasury? I do wish some nice, thrifty Republican would answer me that.

Maybe they'll think about the tax situation the next time we have an e-coli breakout because there are no inspectors to ensure our food safety because they don't have the taxes that would have paid the salary. I hope it's not one of their family members so afflicted. I could go on and on, but what's the point?

It's not the cost of the taxes we pay that's at issue, it's what they do with the revenue once it's in their hands. Who does it benefit?
