Bears sign linebacker Rod Wilson

The Bears signed linebacker Rod Wilson to a one-year contract today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wilson was originally drafted by the Bears in the seventh round (220th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft.

He appeared in 28 games for Chicago in 2006 and 2007, recording 30 special teams tackles, after missing 2005 due to a knee injury. He added 12 tackles on defense as a reserve for the Bears.

After being waived by Chicago in 2008, Wilson signed with Tampa Bay and appeared in eight contests for the Buccaneers in 2009, recording two special teams stops.

He signed with Jacksonville as a free agent this offseason but was released after the preseason.
