Body scans are step in wrong direction
Regarding the full body scanners at airports, some say that they are a small price to pay for safety. But is this really just a trivial matter? The Fourth Amendment prohibits unreasonable search without probable cause; are we to assume that all travelers are probable terrorists?
We were told the naked body scanners do not take detailed pictures, but that has been proven false.
We were told they never store these pictures, but that has been proven false.
We were told that these X-rays are safe, but that has been proven false. We were told if you opt out of being exposed to X-rays you will be subjected to a simple pat-down search That also has been proven false. This simple search frequently becomes a strip-search and or leads to being sexually groped by a TSA guard in public an act if done anywhere else would probably get the groper a fist in this face or at least a lawsuit for sexual abuse.
How would this enhanced security have stopped the underwear bomber who was escorted past security by a “well-dressed man”?
It is obvious that these scanners have little to do with improving airport security. Statistically you have less of a change of being killed by a terrorist then you do from a misdiagnosis from your family doctor. So is all this really being done just in the name of safety?
I believe the real reason is this is a way of training people to give up their rights. You are simply being taught to meekly submit to a government groping or whatever else they deem necessary, and thus are slowly being programmed to be obedient slaves who will never dare question any actions taken by your masters.
