TV watchguards need support

People are beginning to realize what has happened to television. There was a time when the entire family could sit down to watch TV without parents having to worry about what their kids are exposed to. But no more.

A recent Rasmussen poll finds that almost 60 percent of Americans agree that there is too much indecent content on television. Only half that number think television is OK. The content of entertainment is eroding our culture. The usual response from broadcasters is "If you don't like it, change the channel." That's like saying, "If you don't like slavery, don't own a slave." But there are people who care, and they are doing something. Groups like the Parents Television Council are working to restore a sense of responsibility to broadcasting. They need all the help we can give them.
