Where is the apology for 9/11?
Approximately 61 percent of Americans oppose the New York mosque project, and yet the Muslims insist on wanting to build it near ground zero, where the loved ones of those who were murdered by radical Muslims must endure the sight as a reminder of that dreaded day. While the Muslims claim it would be a symbol of religious tolerance, many believe that it would be an insult to those who died on Sept. 11, 2001.
Immediately after the 9/11 attacks President Bush visited an Islamic center and declared that there would be no reprisals against Muslims; however, not a single Muslim publicly expressed regrets. Why won't Mansoor Mirza, Feisal Abdul Rauf and Daisy Khan give a public apology, instead insisting on building the mosque in such a polarizing location? Those railing against the mosque have a great argument: Saudi Arabia doesn't allow churches or synagogues, so why should the U.S. permit the building of Islamic place of worship?
