Man robs Schaumburg gas station at gunpoint
Police are looking for a man who robbed a Schaumburg gas station at gunpoint early Wednesday morning.
The suspect displayed a small black semiautomatic handgun while demanding cash and a pack of Newport cigarettes from a cashier about 2:15 a.m. at the Shell gas station, 575 S. Roselle Road. The man left with an undetermined amount of cash, according to a news release from the Schaumburg Police Department.
The store clerk was uninjured, police said.
The suspect is described as a 40-year-old black man, 6 feet, 3 inches, 225 pounds, with short black hair, a medium complexion and average build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the armed robbery.
Police said the man left the station on foot, and it's unknown if he had a vehicle.
