St. Charlesbull; Salvator Alejandre-Salgado, 41, of the 200 block of Bartlett Place in Elgin, was arrested Saturday and charged with felony retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Meijer, in the 800 block of South Randall Road, observed Alejandre-Salgado select two live lobsters and a tilapia and place them inside a cart. Alejandre-Salgado then when to the liquor department and pulled a box cutter from inside his pants. He then cut the UPC code off a case of Corona and placed it in the bottom of a shopping cart. Alejandre-Salgado then went to the home furnishings department, selected a seven-piece comforter set and cut the UPC code from its bag. Alejandre-Salgado then attempted to leave the store without paying for any of the items when store security stopped him.bull; Gerrel K. Smith, 24, of the 200 block of East Webb Street in Sandwich, was arrested Saturday and charged with battery, according to a police report. Smith was among a busload of people who were at a tavern in downtown St. Charles on a pub-crawl. The group had been asked to leave the tavern after getting "rowdy." A commotion broke out, resulting in Smith punching another man in the left side of the head and trying to walk away when police stopped him.bull; Berenice Munoz, 33, of the 900 block of Lorlyn Drive in West Chicago, was arrested Friday and charged with endangering the life of a child younger than 18, according to a police report. Police arrived at a location on the 3800 block of East Main Street for a report of a group of small children left unattended in a sport utility vehicle. Police located the locked vehicle, which had all of its windows rolled down about four inches. Police observed an 8-year-old with sweat dripping from her forehead in the back seat next to a 16-month-old girl in a car seat who was crying and sweating. The 16-month-old also wore a shirt covered with vomit. Police were unable to wake the 8-year-old by yelling through the window. It was about 65 degrees outside. Police gained entry to the vehicle and located Munoz shopping inside a nearby store. Munoz told police she was attempting to locate her older daughter and had been away from the vehicle for about 20 minutes. Munoz has an Oct. 14 court date.South Elginbull; A Louis Vuitton belt, wallet, iTouch and purse, a total value of $1,585, were reported stolen from an unlocked 2005 Cadillac Escalade in the 400 block of East Thornwood Drive at 12:30 a.m. Friday, police said.bull; James Hernandez, 35, of the 100 block of Carla, was charged with battery at 5:35 p.m. Saturday after an altercation in the 600 block of North Water Street, according to a police report.bull; A camera, iPod, and Garmin GPS were stolen between 7 p.m. Sept. 8 and 12:04 p.m. Sept. 10 from a vehicle with its windows cracked open in the 0-99 block of South Linden Court, reports said.Bataviabull; Four blocks of steel weighing 2,000 pounds was stolen between Friday and Saturday from Royal Tool and Machine, 1209 Paramount Parkway, police said.bull; Thomas H. Kumro, 21, of the 0-99 block of Hathaway Crescent in Sugar Grove, was arrested at 4:59 p.m. Monday on charges of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to a police report. Bail was set at $60,000. The police report did not specify what the drug was, but online court records indicate it was cocaine or a look-alike substance. Kumro was arrested at the Kane County jail, where he was being held on $180,000 bail on other cases.bull; Jacob V.
