Chicagoland Speedway changes leadership
The parent company of Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway announced a leadership change Friday at the facility, with Craig Rust leaving the company and his duties as president.
A search for a successor is under way, and International Speedway Corporation president John Saunder will assume interim oversight for the facility.
"Chicagoland Speedway is one of our premier facilities located in the third largest market for NASCAR racing," said Saunders. "With the track's major 2010 events behind us, we're working hard toward an exciting 2011 season for our fans and partners, highlighted by Chicagoland's 10th anniversary celebration and the start of the 2011 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
"We are fortunate to have talented executives across our company, along with an outstanding team at Chicagoland, to help make this transition a seamless one. We'd like to thank Craig for his years of service within ISC and wish him well in his future."
