See how center cares for injured, orphaned animals at open house
The Fox Valley Wildlife Center will hold its annual open house from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26 at the center, which is located in the Elburn Forest Preserve, 45W061 Route 38 in Elburn. Visitors can tour the Wildlife Center and view where orphaned, injured and displaced wildlife are cared for during the year.
This informational and educational event is held each fall, inviting the public to learn about the purpose and goals of the Fox Valley Wildlife Center through special exhibits, presentations and activities involving some of our area's wildlife. There will be games, crafts, a pie walk, bake sale and more.
Wildlife Center staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer wildlife questions, including how the rehabilitation process works, and visitors will be able to take self-guided tours of the facility and grounds and meet the center's educational animals.
Established in 2000, the Fox Valley Wildlife Center is a nonprofit, volunteer organization and is state and federally licensed to care for orphaned and injured wild birds and mammals. For information on this year's open house, call the Wildlife Center at (630) 365-3800.
