Downtown Wheaton businesses burglarized
Wheaton police say two businesses in the city's downtown were broken into sometime between late Thursday night or early Friday morning.
One of the burglaries was at the Pad Thai Restaurant at 563 W. Liberty Drive. The rear door was forced open and an undetermined amount of cash was stolen.
Police also said The Squire Taylor Shop was found ransacked and about $100 cash was missing from the store at 103 E. Front St. Forced entry was gained through a rear window.
Both businesses were unoccupied at the time. Wheaton police say it appears both burglaries are related.
Detectives are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Cmdr. James Volpe at (630) 260-2055.
