Last show:The United States Air Force Band of Mid-America will present a free concert this Friday, August 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Wing Park, 1000 Wing Street in Elgin. This concert will be the final season performance at the Wing Park Bandshell for 2010. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, blanket or chairs to enjoy this wonderful finale to a season full of great performers at the park.Exercise for a cause:Local bikers and runners are invited to compete for a cause - combatting Lyme Disease. On Saturday, Aug. 14, the Midwest Lyme Foundation is holding Endurance Ride and Stride, a bike ride and optional 10K run in Algonquin. Biking course options feature 25, 50, 75 and 100 mile rides. The event starts at Life Time Fitness in Algonquin. It costs $50 for the bike ride and $30 to do the run, if you're a club member. If you aren't, you'll pay $60 for the bike ride and $35 for the run.
