Olympic gymnast coming to Woodfield
Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin will be at the J.C. Penney store at Woodfield Shopping Center this weekend to launch her new clothing line, Supergirl by Nastia.
The athlete will be at the department store at the Schaumburg mall from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. Her new line, designed for 8 to 12-year-old girls, will retail from $20 to $38. The collection will include active fleece, dresses and tunics, knit pants, signature Supergirl tees, dancewear, fashion leggings and shrug tops. The appearance is the start of a marketing rollout of the new line.
The five-time Olympic medallist partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to exclusively sell the clothing at J.C. Penney stores.
At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Luikin's five medals tied the U.S. gymnastics record for most medals in one Olympic Games, currently held by Mary Lou Retton and Shannon Miller.
