Bears sign defensive tackle Mick Williams

The Bears signed defensive tackle Mick Williams to a two-year contract and waived/injured DT Averell Spicer. Terms of the Williams deal were not disclosed.

Williams was an undrafted free agent this season with the New York Jets out of the University of Pittsburgh. The 2009 Big East co-Defensive Player of the Year and first-team conference selection recorded 17 tackles for losses, five sacks and three forced fumbles in 13 games (12 starts) during his senior season.

For his collegiate career (2006-09), Williams recorded 98 tackles, 33.5 tackles for losses and 12.5 sacks.
