Fire badly damages Mt. Prospect house

Mount Prospect fire investigators are investigating the cause of a fire on the 2000 block of East Cayuga Lane on Sunday morning.

Three people were in the house when the fire started, but escaped without injury.

The fire, which started around 7:30 a.m., burned for about 90 minutes and left the house with $250,000 worth of damages, said Mount Prospect Fire Department Battalion Chief Randy Uidl.

Uidl said the fire started in the lower level family room area of the tri-level house.
