Police looking for driver in Fox River Grove hit-and-run

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a 19-year-old bicyclist was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Northwest Highway and North River Road in Fox River Grove early Sunday.

Police are searching for the driver of the vehicle; witnesses told police the vehicle was a blue Hyundai and based on evidence found at the scene it is missing a passenger side rear view mirror, police said.

The 19-year-old Cary man was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with unknown injuries after the 12:52 a.m. crash, police said. The vehicle fled the scene west on Northwest Highway, officials said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department or Crime Stoppers at (800) 762-STOP.
