Anonapalooza fundraiser:The Anonapalooza Family Summerfest is from noon to 7 p.m. today and Sunday at Good Templar Park, 528 East Side Drive, Geneva. There are four musical stages, a drum circle, a magician, a picnic, softball and volleyball and more. It is a fundraiser for Serenity House addictions treatment center in Addison. Admission is $5. The Illinois State Championship Chili Cook-off will be from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, and the Windmill City Chili Cook-off will be from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Both events are part of the 18th Illinois State Championship Chili Cook-off and will be held at the Riverwalk in downtown Batavia. Chili Appreciation Society International Cook-off rules apply. Tasting starts at 1 p.m. today and noon Sunday, with a donation of $5 to taste 35 to 40 chilis. Saturday's proceeds will benefit the Batavia Teen Center and Sunday's proceeds will benefit the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry.Strawberry tea in Batavia:The Batavia Depot Museum will host a Mary Lincoln Strawberry Tea and Civil War Fashion Show from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Eastside Community Center, 14 N. Van Buren St. Donna Daniels and other Mary Lincoln presenters will model and discuss the clothing of the period. Tea, coffee and treats will be served. The cost is $16 per person. For information about registration, visit kaneland.org.UW names board member:Matthew Parker, a banker and advocate for seriously ill children and others in need, has joined the board of directors of Fox Valley United Way. Parker, senior vice president at Aurora-headquartered Old Second National Bank, has a volunteer history that includes the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Special Olympics and Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer. He also is active in Hole in the Walls Camps, founded by the late Paul Newman to provide a positive camp experience for children with serious medical conditions.
