Snoop Dogg a no-show at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg

About 850 Snoop Dogg fans were left hanging Friday night when the rapper missed an appearance at John Barleycorn restaurant and club in Schaumburg.

Manager Kevin Hoy said attendees, who had paid $25 a ticket for the 9:30 p.m. show, began booing after it was announced Snoop wouldn't be appearing after all.

Hoy couldn't give an exact time that management announced the canceled show, only noting it was late.

Schaumburg police, who were on hand for the event, were called in, but no arrests were made, police said.

Hoy said Snoop's manager told restaurant officials that with Friday's storm, he "didn't feel safe driving in from (Chicago)."

It was reported that the rapper spent time earlier in the evening signing autographs at downtown Chicago's new Adidas store on Michigan Avenue.

He was in town to kick off his youth football league serving inner city kids, which is expected to start up next fall.

"We feel awful for our customers," Hoy said. "We're trying to get him back."

Barleycorn customers who had tickets for the show will be refunded and given free tickets to the Mike Posner event next weekend, Hoy said.

Snoop's publicist could not be immediately reached for comment.
