Cops: 3 Wood Dale teens illegally sold prescription drugs
Two Wood Dale teens and a minor face charges of illegally selling prescription drugs, authorities said Friday.
James Grzeca, 18, was charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, police said. Hellen A. Kollar, 18, faces one count of the same charge, a felony punishable by two to five years in prison and up to a $25,000 fine.
Charges also are being sought against the minor through the state's attorney's office, authorities said.
The charges came this week after the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group and Wood Dale police executed a search warrant on Thursday at 411 N. Walnut Ave., where Kollar lives.
Police said the warrant was granted as part of an undercover investigation launched when a resident reported possible illegal prescription drug sales from the home. Deputy Chief Greg Vesta said the home also was the focus of a previous narcotics investigation that involved the sale of morphine pills to a youth who later slipped into a coma.
In addition, Hellen G. Kollar, 41, of Wood Dale, was charged with obstructing a peace officer, after police said she tried to prevent her daughter's arrest.
Grzeca was still in custody Friday and has an Aug. 16 court date. Authorities said both Kollar women are out of jail.
