Elginbull; James E. Griffith III, 26, of the 700 block of West Highland Avenue, Elgin, was charged with disorderly conduct Wednesday, with police saying he made a false report about a noisy neighbor. As it turned out, the neighbor wasn't making any noise at all, police said. His bail was set at $1,000 and his next court date is Sept. 10 at the Elgin Branch Court. bull; Rose Jaurez-Ruiz, 46, of the 600 block of Walnut Street, Elgin, was arrested and charged with battery at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, reports said. She is accused of scratching and slapping a woman in the 900 block of Raymond Street and is due in court on Aug. 27, reports said.bull; A cashier at Colonial Cafe, 600 S. Police said Bernthal was westbound on Indian Mound Road about 1:30 a.m. when he failed to stop at a T intersection with Ferson Creek Drive and crashed into a patch of small trees and shrubs. He later registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.206, police said. bull; Kevin Cestone, 39, of the 39W800 block of Robert Frost Circle, St. Charles, was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign, no registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle Friday after a crash near St. Charles, according to a police report. Police said Cestone was westbound on Stearns Road just before 9:30 p.m. when he ran a stop sign at Dunham, struck a guardrail and crashed into a ditch about 30 feet off the road. He later registered a blood-alcohol level of .085, according to police. bull; Kathleen M. Kennedy, 48, of the 11N700 block of Howard Avenue, Elgin, was arrested Friday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident after crashing a 1989 Honda Accord into a ditch on the 11N900 block of Almora Terrace, near Elgin, shortly before 8 p.m., according to a police report. Police said Kennedy drove home without reporting the crash. bull; An 8-week-old Maltese/Shih Tzu was reported stolen Tuesday on the 44W200 block of Route 20, near Hampshire. The owner told police a woman came to her house to look at the puppy, then stole it while she was on the phone. The 2-pound dog was valued at $450. The thief was described as a white woman, 35 to 45 years old and 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10, with a thin build. She was last seen driving east on Route 20 toward Pingree Grove in a newer model Mercedes that was dark gray or black in color. bull; A gold ring valued at $1,200 was reported stolen Monday from a residence on the 12N800 block of Pollitt Drive, near Elgin, police said. bull; A Sony PlayStation 3, six games, an Xbox 360, two gold necklaces and two gold rings were reported stolen Tuesday from a residence on the 11N000 block of Juliet Drive, near Elgin. The loss was estimated at $1,470. bull; A Magellan Maestro GPS valued at $130 was reported stolen Friday from the center console of a 2006 Chevrolet Impala on the 8N000 block of Peppertree Lane, near Elgin.
