Crystal Lake man charged in drug sting
A 26-year-old Crystal Lake man faces up to 30 years in prison after his arrest Wednesday on charges he sold cocaine earlier this year to undercover police officers.
Rodrigo Pachuca-Juarez, of the 200 block of Uteg Street, appeared in court Thursday charged with two counts each of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
The criminal complaint against Pachuca-Juarez claims he sold an undercover officer between one and 15 grams of cocaine on Jan. 8 and then between 15 and 100 grams two weeks later.
Pachuca-Juarez remained in custody at the McHenry County jail Thursday unable to post a $10,000 bond.
He was assigned a public defender during his court appearance and is scheduled back in court Tuesday on his motion for a bond reduction.
The most serious charge against him is a Class X felony, punishable by a mandatory sentence of six to 30 years in prison if he is found guilty.
