Mount Prospect man faces sexual abuse, assault charges against two women in Wheeling
Wheeling police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old Mount Prospect man with sexually abusing and assaulting two women within the past two weeks.
Constantino Andres-Medina, of the 1000 block of Boxwood Drive, is charged with one count each of criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault.
Police accuse Andres-Medina of grabbing a woman walking near Wheeling Road and Inwood Drive on June 27, and sexually assaulting another woman jogging in the area of Wheeling Road and Mercantile Court on July 9.
Both attacks occurred at about 3:30 p.m. In the July 27 attack, the offender grabbed a woman in her late 20s below her waist but fled on foot when she yelled for help, police said.
The second incident followed the same pattern with the offender grabbing a teenage victim from behind and sexually assaulting her. The victim then pushed the man away and yelled at him after which he fled on foot, police said.
Both victims gave police similar descriptions and details about their attacker and a possible vehicle description.
Wheeling police on Monday stopped a vehicle of that description in the area where the attacks occurred.
Andres-Medina, who police said was driving without a license, was taken into police custody for questioning. He later admitted to the sexual abuse and assault, police said.
Andres-Medina's bond was set Tuesday afternoon at $100,000. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 5 in Rolling Meadows.
