10 charged in Wonder Lake-area fight
The McHenry County sheriff's office announced Wednesday it had arrested 10 people after a fight outside a store Monday night near Wonder Lake that left one person with a head injury.
Police said six adults and four juveniles were involved in an altercation with three men that started on a beach on the east side of Wonder Lake and moved in front of the store on the 5300 block of East Wonder Lake Road.
Police said three victims fled the scene and were chased by the offenders in two separate vehicles. One of the victims was taken to Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry for injuries. Two other victims complained of injuries but refused treatment. Police said brass knuckles were found at the scene.
According to a police report, those charged with mob action were Przemyslaw Faielak, 17, of McHenry, and Cody T. Williams, 17, Joseph C. Callas, 18, Austin M. Wetzel-Conner, 17, Patrick M. Fallaw, 18 and Justin E. Dean 18, all of Wonder Lake. Four juveniles were also charged with felony mob action. Eight of those arrested were also charged with battery.
The investigation is ongoing in cooperation with the state's attorney's office, and more charges are expected.
