True patriotism lacking at the top

I recently asked two of my grandsons, ages 8 and 5, if they knew the Pledge of Allegiance. They promptly stood up, took off their baseball caps, placed their right hands on their hearts and recited the Pledge.

We then talked about the Pledge of Allegiance and patriotism to America. I asked them if they knew what patriotism meant and the older boy replied, "Being proud of your country."

I guess that my grandson has not heard President Obama apologizing for the United States and has come to pride in his country at a much younger age then Michelle Obama.
