Don't read if you believe in jinxes: City has parade plans in place

After preparing its police and fire personnel last week to get ready for massive celebrations tonight should the Blackhawks clinch the Stanley Cup, Chicago officials reportedly have a parade plan in place.

Should the Blackhawks beat the Philadelphia Flyers tonight and win the Stanley Cup, a ticker-tape parade is being planned in Chicago for Friday, according to a Sun-Times columnist. The event would be similar to what occurred when the White Sox won the World Series in 2005, and some fans likely would start lining the streets at dawn in preparation for a mid-day rally.

If the Hawks lose tonight's game but win the Stanley Cup on Friday in Game 7 at the United Center, the parade would be held next Monday, according to the report.

Details about the time and place of the parade have not been disclosed, but the Loop area was filled when the White Sox celebrated their World Series title.
