Game 7 ticket prices high and expected to go higher
Hey Blackhawks fans, what would it be worth for you to see a potential Game 7 Stanley Cup Finals game Friday night at the United Center and perhaps a chance to see the boys in the red sweaters finally hoist the Cup?
Well, if the Philadelphia Flyers pull off a win tonight against the Hawks in Game 6 to set up that scenario, the answer is an awful, awful lot.
And we mean a lot.
How does $8,580 for seats behind the glass hit you?
Or an average ticket price of $1,175?
And, according to Joellen Ferrer of StubHub.com, prices are only go higher if and when a Game 7 becomes a reality.
"I expect Game 7 prices would immediately skyrocket to match the increased demand," Ferrer said. "Right now would be the best time to buy Game 7 tickets for a variety of reasons - prices have not been affected yet by the market, there is the widest selection of seating options, and its completely risk-free because fans would get a full refund on ticket price, fees, and shipping if the game isn't necessary."
Ferrer said that many fans have already purchased Game 7 tickets and that sales have been strong, yet not surprisingly, no one has jumped on one listing that offers tickets for $30,000, and probably won't.
But if the series goes a full seven games ... who knows?
