Blues sign top 2009 draft pick Rundblad

ST. LOUIS -- It took about a year, but the St. Louis Blues have signed David Rundblad, a 19-year-old defenseman who was their first-round selection in 2009.

Rundblad has spent the past three seasons in the Swedish Elite League. The native of Lycksele, Sweden had a goal and 12 assists with 14 penalty minutes for Skelleftea in 2009-10.

Rundblad also represented Sweden in the 2009 and 2010 IIHF World Junior Championships.

Blues President John Davidson says Rundblad will help add depth to the team's blue line.
