Daniels' decision is . . . forthcoming

Having played some quarterback over his high school career, DaVaris Daniels knows about all about audibles.

On Tuesday morning, the star receiver from Vernon Hills called a big one.

Less than 24 hours earlier, Daniels had sent out a press release, calling for a noon news conference at the high school on Tuesday to announce what college he intended to commit to. Ranked as the No. 1 receiver in the nation by various publications, media outlets and recruiting services, Daniels has been courted by hundreds of major Division I programs and can pretty much write his ticket anywhere.

But on Tuesday morning, just hours before his planned announcement, Daniels switched gears and decided to cancel the news conference. According to Vernon Hills athletic director Brian McDonald, Daniels realized that he needed more time to weigh his options.

It has been reported that Daniels has been giving heavy consideration to Notre Dame, Illinois, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Miami.
