Track, with Stabler, good for suburbs
Regardless of how you feel about the issue of slots at the track, the undisputed fact is that Arlington Park has helped to improve the economic vitality of our community. Kristine Stabler, director of community relations for Arlington Park, has been especially instrumental in that effort.
Kris is a life long resident of the area and is an admired and respected community leader who willingly lends her experience and expertise to the private sectors and business arenas in the Northwest suburbs. She supports countless local events and sits on the boards of many not-for-profit agencies. I have served with Kris on the District 214 Community Education Foundation Board and the Arlington Heights Park District Foundation Board.
Her no-nonsense, take charge approach makes Kris a valuable asset that Foundation directors strongly desire. Kris is a former president of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce and was recently installed as president of the Arlington Heights Rotary Club. She is a director with Village Bank and Trust, serves as trustee for the Northwest Community Hospital Foundation, and is a board member for the Frisbie Senior Center in Des Plaines. She is very active with Northwest Suburban Recreation Association and is the go-to person when a need arises.
Among other projects, Kris tirelessly advocates for those in need by spearheading food drives for the Wheeling Township Food Pantry, coordinating annual Thanksgiving Basket programs for both the Township and the Village of Arlington Heights, and sponsoring the holiday Adopt a Family program.
I for one am inspired by her dedication and caring spirit and applaud and thank Kris Stabler for her many significant endeavors.
