Bruins sign Recchi to 1-year extension
BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins have signed veteran forward Mark Recchi to a one-year contract extension.
The 42-year-old Recchi had 18 goals and 25 assists in 81 regular-season games last season, as well as a team-leading six goals along with four assists in 13 playoff games.
The seven-time All Star has 563 goals and 922 assists for 1,485 points in 1,571 NHL games, including stints with Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Montreal, Carolina, Atlanta and Tampa Bay. He has 56 goals and 77 assists in 164 career playoff games.
Among active players, Recchi is second in games played; second in goals; first in assists; and first in points.
He was acquired by the Bruins from the Lightning in March 2009.
The team did not disclose terms of the deal.
