Fund established to bring soldier home

On July 8, 2006 a brave young man from Rapid River, Mich. in Michigan's upper peninsula gave his life while serving in the Army in Ramadi, Iraq. He, along with two of his fellow servicemen, was killed by a roadside bombing while protecting the citizens of Iraq and the United States.

After a memorial service in Michigan he was buried in Germany where his German wife lived.  She has since remarried and his mother and father hope to raise enough money to bring him back home to Michigan.

With Memorial Day quickly approaching I hope you will all consider taking out an envelope, putting $1 in it and mailing it to "Bring Joe Micks home" c/o of the Upper Peninsula State Bank, 430 N. Lincoln, Escanaba, MI 49829.

We all can afford one less cup of coffee, going without a couple of candy bars, one half glass of beer, or a movie rental to honor this brave man and his family who have suffered so much.

If you want to make sure that this is legitimate or read more about Joe Micks you can go to http://www.dailypress.net/page/content.detail/id/519239.html.

By helping get Joe Micks home, his parents, Ken and Amy will finally be able to visit their son any time they want.  This is the least we can do for a brave Midwesterner who gave his life.  Thank you, God Bless You and God Bless America.
