VFW hosts dinner and show:The Tri-City Evergreen VFW Post 2298, 117 S. First St., West Dundee, will host a dinner and show, "Some Patsy Cline and Rock Roll," Saturday, May 15. Dinner is from 6 to 7 p.m. and the show is from 8 to 10 p.m. Dinner includes baked ham and chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetable, dinner rolls, baked beans and dessert for $25 at the door. For details about vendor space, call Sandy Beck at (847) 426-2423.Arlington 500 rides Sunday:A bicycle ride on lightly traveled Lake County roads will begin anytime between 7 and 10 a.m. Sunday, May 16, at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St., Barrington. The Arlington Heights Bicycle Club sponsors the 31st annual Arlington 500 bicycle ride for recreational cyclists. Riders can choose one of four routes, with 30, 44, 54 or 68 miles. Those taking the longest two rides are expected to start before 9 a.m., and the others must start before 10 a.m. Fee is $15. The NKEC runs Cambridge Lakes Charter School in Pingree Grove. Registration for the all-ages race or walk begins at 7 a.m. and continues until 7:45 a.m. at the school, 900 Wester Blvd. in Pingree Grove.
