Huntley, Hampshire notch regional wins

Huntley 8, Rockford Auburn 0: The Red Raiders (20-3-1) wasted little time taking control of Tuesday's Class 3A Rockford Jefferson regional as they easily defeated Rockford Auburn.

Aimee Wronski recorded her team-leading 25th and 26th goals of the season while Ashley Schorr also found the back of the net twice to lead the Red Raiders. Emily Konior, Taylor Henning-Fletter, and Ashley Arnieri scored Huntley's other 3 goals. Sara Hoffman and Kaytlyn Owens preserved the shutout for the Red Raiders in goal.

Hampshire 5, Woodstock 0: The Whip-Purs (18-5-1) used a balanced attack as they surged out to an early 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back as they defeated Woodstock in the Class 2A Marengo regional.

"So many players had strong games tonight," said Hampshire coach Patrick O'Brien. "I'm very proud of their efforts and excited about the challenge that lies ahead."

The Whips' received goals from 5 different players as Emily Zeller, Kelsey Burke, Cassie Dumoulin, Alex Field, and Karla Vietinghoff all found the back of the net. Haylee Moscato preserved the shutout with 5 saves in goal.
