Scouting Buffalo Grove at Elk Grove

Buffalo Grove (2-2) at Elk Grove (3-1)

When: 7:30 p.m. today at Robert Haskell Stadium

Last week: BG lost to Fremd 26-14; Elk Grove d. Schaumburg 36-34

Outlook: Elk Grove hopes to use one of the biggest wins in school history as a springboard into MSL East play. "Now we're focusing on the prize of trying to win the conference and that has everybody really excited," said Elk Grove coach Brian Doll. "We went from just hunting a team to feeling we're being the hunted." Hunting down Elk Grove QB Nick Meyer (1,354 total yards, 16 TDs) and the skilled crew of Joey Bishoff (25 catches, 319 yards), Mike Wary, Eddie Solorio and Eddie Stahl isn't easy. "That kid (Meyer) is everywhere," said BG coach Jim Farrell. "Nick is a special player and Bishoff is probably one of the best athletes around offensively and defensively." Farrell wasn't sure if QB Mike Garrity would be able to return after missing last week with a concussion but Doll said they were prepared for him or last week's starter, Richie Zirngibl. Elk Grove's Kyle Pass will miss two to three weeks with a sprained MCL suffered on his 91-yard fumble return last week. BG leads the series 16-6 but has lost the last two meetings.
