Don't blame pope for priests' failings

It seems to me that the Catholic Church is under siege again by the media, reporting that Pope Benedict XVI is guilty by association.

I am Catholic and I'll defend my faith. Many people and governments have tried to tear down all religions at one time or another. Yes, bad things happen. When some sick person in a group of people does wrong, the whole group is persecuted. Is this right?

Jesus says, "Those without sin cast the first stone." Is our government without sin? Are our politicians and presidents without sin?

There are a lot of bad pennies out there. Look at the stock brokers and the CEO's who almost brought down Wall Street. How about the media who won't leave celebrities alone, chasing them down to get a story and photo. Remember Princess Diana?

Everybody has dirty linen. Do you want yours revealed? That is why I concur with Jesus: "Those without sin cast the first stone."

For me, I'll pray for those who were victims and I'll pray for peace, mercy and forgiveness for the whole world as we are all in dire need of God's help.
