Elginbull; Someone broke the driver's side window on a car in the 0-99 block of North Gifford Street between 10 p.m. Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday and stole a global positioning device, report said.South Elginbull; Nicole A. James, 17, of the 300 block of Sycamore Street, Genoa, was charged with possession of a controlled substance Tuesday evening, police said. She was arrested at Sperry Park, a local skateboarding park, after residents complained about a group of people smoking marijuana, a report said. Police arrived at 6:40 p.m., searched the teens and found a mirror on James that had cocaine residue on it, Sgt. Mike Doty said. During a Wednesday morning bond hearing, James said she tried cocaine for the first time over the weekend. Kane County Judge Bruce Lester set her bond at $2,000 and threatened to set a higher bond if she found herself in trouble again. "You better keep your nose clean," Lester said. "I know that's a terrible metaphor to use, but you better walk the line." She is due to appear in court on Friday.Lake in the Hillsbull; Thomas R. Brzizinski, 42, of the 1100 block of Crystal Lake Road, Lake in the Hills, was arrested Tuesday on an aggravated assault charge, police said. He waved a knife in a woman's face while he taunted her on April 5, according to a report. He was released on $1,000 bond and is due in court May 27 in Woodstock.
