We all pay cost for uninsured
I am writing to you to express my deep concern for the need for national health care reform. My husband and I always believed that because we worked in health care, the health care issue would not touch our family. We were wrong. In the past month, both of our companies have put us through lay off scenarios. Fortunately our jobs were spared, though jobs of many co-workers were not. Painfully, these same co-workers now have no health care or even worse, Cobra coverage. Cobra is one of the most exploiting pathetic excuses for health care coverage that exists. Why can't the people of this country see that unemployed and underemployed individuals have nowhere to turn for health care. Ultimately, it is the insured that end up paying their bills, too. That is why health care spending is rising at such a ridiculous rate. I implore you to keep on our elected officials to work on reforming our health care system. No one is overseeing the health care companies, and they are exploiting the insured.
