Huntley Dist. 158's HR director to resign

Huntley Unit District 158's human resources director Lauren Smith will resign at the end of the 2009-10 school year, marking the latest in a string of high-profile resignations, district officials said Thursday.

Smith will leave June 30, 2010 to accept a higher-paying job in another school district, Superintendent John Burkey said.

"I'm very sorry to see her go, but it's a big step up for her, a much higher-paying job," Burkey said. "I understand but I'm very sorry to see her go."

Smith could not be reached immediately for comment.
