College students raise money for Haiti relief
Local residents are among Aurora University students raising funds for Haiti relief.
Kristen Johnson, director of student leadership, said her 25-student Wellness and Social Responsibility class has designed and is selling "AU Helps Haiti" T-shirts. About 100 of the $10, blue-with-white lettering shirts have been sold. The shirts will be available until May.
Funds raised will go to Convoy of Hope, a Springfield, Mo.-based nonprofit which has worked in Haiti and currently feeds 11,000 children there daily.
Convoy feeds the hungry and provides pure drinking water to people in need across the United States and around the world. To date, the organization has provided real help to 28 million people in 112 countries and 45 states.
Call Johnson at (630) 844-5624 to order a shirt or for more information.
