Elgin

• Someone used a large rock to break out a basement window of a residence in the 200 block of Pauline Drive at about 10 a.m. Monday and stole a laptop computer, cell phone and wallet with $300 inside, reports said.

• Someone stole a wallet and stereo from a pickup truck in the 300 block of McLean Boulevard about 4:30 p.m. Friday, reports said.

• Police chased but did not catch three teens trying to open the doors of cars parked along the 200 block of Douglas Avenue at about 6:02 p.m. Monday.

• Pedro Leyva, 34, of the 900 block of Villa Street, Elgin, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, after police found him in his car, passed out at 2:09 a.m. Monday on the 900 block of Villa, reports said. Leyva, whose license was revoked for a previous DUI arrest, is due in court on Feb. 25, reports said.

• Michael A. Jones, 43, of the 1000 block of Westchester Circle, Schaumburg, was arrested and charged with trespassing at 11:37 p.m. Monday at the Grand Victoria Casino, police said. He is due in court on March 5.

• Jason M. Haro, 28, of the 400 block of Stone Hollow Driver, Poplar Grove, was arrested and charged with marijuana possession, no rear license plate and no insurance after a traffic stop at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday on the 700 block of Summit Street, reports said. Police found rolling papers and marijuana on the front seat after a traffic stop, reports said.

• Thomas P. Corbin, 51, of the 500 block of North Quentin Road, Palatine, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 2:16 p.m. Monday at State Street and Highland Avenue, reports said. Corbin was arrested on charges of an outstanding warrant and police found a crack pipe on him, reports said.

• Someone poured sugar in the gas tank of a 2004 Lincoln LS on the 100 block of Longwood Place between 8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday.

• A briefcase containing $4,000 was stolen between 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2 and 5:45 p.m. Feb. 3 from a car on the 0-99 block of Longwood Place, reports said.

• The front passenger window was broken on a 2005 Mitsubishi Gallant between 8:45 and 9:15 p.m. Monday and stole a purse and a wireless phone, a total loss of $600, reports said.

• Jason F. Born, 41, of the 900 block of Douglas Avenue, Elgin, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 3:36 p.m. Monday at Menard's, 825 S. Randall Road, reports said. He is accused of stealing a tape measure and eating candy without paying for it, reports said.

Kane Countybull; Daniel R. Schultz, 21, of the 0N3000 block of Stebbins Road, Poynette, Wis., was arrested at 11:49 p.m. Friday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lane use, according to a police report. Police said Schultz was driving south in the northbound lanes on Route 47 near Plato Road near Elgin, nearly colliding with a police car and two other vehicles. His blood-alcohol concentration was 0.193 percent, police said, more than twice the legal threshold of 0.08 percent.bull; Thomas J. Glos, 20, of the 1400 block of Sutter Drive, Hanover Park, was arrested at 11 a.m. Friday and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis in a traffic stop on the 14N200 block of Gunpowder Lane near Elgin, according to a police report.
