Mt. Prospect made series of missteps
It is about time the Village of Mount Prospect woke up and decided to leave Ye Olde Town Inn and Tod Curtis alone.
We already have plenty of new parking lots and vacant land due to the village strong-arming businesses out for redevelopment that did not happen.
We lost Gail's Carriage House, the barber shop, the army surplus, the Meersman law offices and the building deal for the former Clifford windows place to name a few. And what replaced those businesses? Parking lots! What kind of revenue is generated there?
Let's also mention that last year's Christmas parade had to be canceled due to budget concerns to the tune of $37,000. Then Mount Prospect installed security cameras in their new parking garage. The cost of that "great" idea? $37,000! Things that make you go hmm ...
