Dillard is candidate with right priorities

I first met Kirk Dillard when he was Governor Jim Edgar's Chief of Staff and I was a member of the Illinois House. I can say from firsthand experience that their style of government was "if you can't afford it, you can't spend it." I like that, and the voters do too.

When he was elected to the State Senate, I continued to work with him, as a state Representative and now as a Member of Congress. He's smart, he's responsive, and he understands state government from the dual perspective of the executive and the legislative branches.

Kirk Dillard gets it. His top priority is jobs. His plan for a destination economy is right on track and it's achievable. His emphasis on education recognizes that's how we build the prosperity and jobs of the future.

In Washington right now, they don't get it. The leadership has spent the past 13 months working on an unpopular government takeover of health care, cap-and-trade-taxes, and permanent bailout bills. In Springfield, it's even worse.

So, when it comes to the best person to serve as our party's nominee for governor, the answer is clear: Kirk Dillard is the one. I hope that you will join me in my strong support of Kirk Dillard and vote for him on Feb. 2.

U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert
