Wheaton's spending must match revenue
The City of Wheaton needs to get real. Yes, it's extremely unfortunate that 17 (actually 12) city workers have lost their jobs, but companies are laying off workers by the thousands.
Further, the lack of sensitivity on the part of our elected officials regarding increased taxes is both arrogant and irresponsible. Collectively, we all need to be prudent with our spending, including government. As Wheaton citizens, we are asking the City of Wheaton to align their budgets with current revenue shortfalls and not raise taxes.
