Israel should stop its bully tactics

One recent article that disturbed me more than any other in the day’s Daily Herald was the one about Israel maintaining a hold on taxes due the Palestinians — just another of many happenings that add to the unrest in the region. There will never be peace or any kind of meaningful negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians until Israel stops playing the bully. The definition of bully is “a person who uses strength or power to harm or intimidate those who are weaker.”

I repeat the brief article here in case people missed it as it was in the “60 second” section on Page 2: “Israeli Cabinet ministers decided Monday to hold on to some $100 million in taxes owed to the Palestinians, an official said, despite warnings from Israel’s Defense Ministry the measure could threaten the stability of the Palestinian government in the West Bank.”
