Donations welcome for Kane’s Shop with a Cop
Submitted by Kane County Sheriff’s Office
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 14 will host its Shop with a Cop program at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Wal-Mart in Batavia, Fabyan Parkway and Randall Road.
FOP Lodge 14 began the Shop With A Cop program in 1989. Since then, it has been able to provide a Christmas for less fortunate children in our communities. As the program enters its 22nd year, more than 20,000 children have been helped.
The economy in the last decade has suffered and so have organizations that are out there who want to help. In the last three years alone, the program has 237 people per year who have received the benefits of the Shop With A Cop program.
Donations are accepted from individuals and companies such as Wal-Mart, which has been the store chosen for the children to use for the Shop with a Cop.
For details, call President of Lodge 14 Tom Bumgarner at (630) 845-3793.
