Artist chosen for SHS mural

A Chicago-area artist will paint a mural in Stevenson High School’s recently renovated library and participate in the school’s artist-in-residency program, officials announced.

Doug Smithenry, was chosen out of 60 applicants by a committee comprised of students, employees and school board members. Smithenry will work on campus and include students in the making of the 27-foot wide, 7-foot tall mural.

Funding for the project is provided by a grant from the Patriot Parent Association and the Stevenson High School Foundation.
