Palatine council rejects electronic Walgreens sign
The Palatine village council recently voted against a request to erect an electronic message board outside the Walgreens store at Palatine Road and Northwest Highway. Despite repeated revisions by Walgreens representatives reducing the size of the proposed sign, officials said they believed it could be a dangerous distraction for motorists due to its proximity to a similar Palatine Park District electronic message board on Palatine Road.
