Small businesses need care, too

Big Illinois government is fell all over itself to pay hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money to big companies in a desperate attempt to keep them located in Illinois. What is the net effect? More jobs for our citizens? Or is it just a headline and a photo op for the politicos?

Meanwhile, dozens of small Illinois businesses have been trying desperately, at their own expense, to get a big business and the FCC to refund tens of millions of dollars of overcharges refunded from 15 years ago. These small companies employ hundreds if not thousands, yet they are ignored. Small businesses are like our children: nurture them and care for them and they will grow to become strong, independent and self-sufficient adults. Coddling big companies with corporate entitlements sends the wrong message.
