Scouting report: The Grenadiers are looking to improve over last season, and they have a good start with returning forward Diamond Boyd. As a sophomore, she averaged 9.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals. Boyd is coming off an all-area season on the volleyball floor. "We're very excited to get the season started," said Grens coach Ryan Kirkorsky. "We had a strong summer, and we feel good about the developing identity of our team." Kirkorsky said Boyd and Kelly Naughton are growing into "special players and exceptional leaders." Freshman Lindfors is extremely skilled and has fit in well with the group. "Mel Solorio is the glue to our team with a varied skill set," Kirkorsky added. "Most importantly, we have added depth with a number of players who bring different strengths to the court." Bowman, Czeszewski, Solis, Brown and Zaino are all competing to play important roles. "The MSL East seems to be the most balanced as I've ever seen the conference," Kirkorsky said. "We look forward to the challenges that each game will bring and are confident that we can compete with the best in the conference."
