City of West Chicago Seeks Public Input on West Washington Street Redevelopment Project

West Chicago, Illinois: November 8, 2011 – The City of West Chicago is seeking public input on the conceptual plans for the West Washington Street Redevelopment Project at the Development Committee meeting of Monday, November 14, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.

The City has acquired property along Washington Street in order to continue its efforts to revitalize the downtown. The area will include new retail development, open space for community events, a new City Hall and space for a new Police Station and Park District Recreation Center. The City has hired the consulting firm of URS to develop a conceptual site plan for the area and architectural options for the buildings.

City leaders are hoping the public will take the opportunity to learn more about the project and provide feedback.
